Retail PO Product Packaging Requirements

*If your Retail PO requires Dual-Ticketing, please refer to the Direct PO Product Packaging Guide as you will need to package product to accommodate the 3x3 Direct SKU Label.
Dual-Ticketing for Retail POs is addressed in the Retail PO Pre-ticketing Guide.

Please ensure you have pre-ticketed your Retail units according to the Retail PO Pre-ticketing Requirements. Once pre-ticketed, you will need to pack the units according to the requirements on this page.

Units on Retail POs will be packed according to the SKU "Pack Type", either LOOSE or PREPACK. You may refer to the Pack Type for each SKU on the PO in the PO Details tab in Tradestone.

When polybags are required, please follow the Polybag Requirements when sourcing/packing polybags.

Retail Product Packaging for LOOSE SKUs

Polybag, package, and/or add protective packaging for individual units if necessary.

The following products must be individually polybagged:

• Blouses
• Dresses
• Non-denim Skirts
• Embellished/Embroidered Wovens or Knits
• Fashion Knits
• Fine Guage Sweaters
• Jewelry
• Hair Accessories

Additional Packaging Requirements:

• Fragile Items Including Ceramics, Glassware, Products in Breakable Packaging, etc.
  • If item is fragile, it must be individually boxed or bubble wrapped to pass Drop Test Requirements
  • Copper Items: Must be placed in a moisture-repellent bag
  • Cookie Sheets, Pizza Pans, etc.: Must be shrink-wrapped
  • Knives: Must use sheaths or sleeve-guards that are securely attached
• Electronics:
  • Tape or attach hardware to merchandise
• Wall Decor
  • Must apply material to protect corners from damage
• Carpets/Rugs
  • Must be rolled and bagged individually
• Glass-bottled/Fragile Beauty and Cosmetics
  • Must be bubble wrapped prior to polybagging each individual item

Retail Product Packaging for PREPACK SKUs

SKUs on Retail POs may be required to ship in a Prepack configuration. The size breakdown will be specified on the Purchase Order Details.

Polybag each individual unit within the prepack if necessary, according to the above list of product that requires individual polybagging for Retail.

Once units are individually polybagged (as necessary), according to the PO, place the SKU(s) in the appropriate quantities into one large polybag to create each "Prepack".

• Follow the size breakdown on the PO
• Each prepack must be packaged so that the price ticket for the smallest size in the range is visible through the polyag.
• Apply the Prepack Label according to the US Prepack Ticketing Guidelines within the Retail PO Pre-ticketing Requirements.

Additional URBN Brand + Product Specific Requirements

ALL URBN BRANDS - APPAREL:

• Do not ship apparel on hangers
• All apparel should be folded and flat packed

BHLDN Gowns - Class 2110 and 2130:

• Pack gowns flat and on hangers
• Seal top and bottom of gown polybag with clear tape
• All buttons, hooks, zippers, etc. should be closed/fastened
• Group sizes together as frequently as possible (i.e., all size 0 gowns packed together, all size 2 gowns packed together, etc.)
