Intra-Canada Shipments

1. Prepaid Intra-Canada Routing Guide

Domestic prepaid vendors are responsible for the shipping costs to transport goods to the URBN distribution centers and should follow the “Prepaid” Routing Instructions below, unless otherwise arranged with the Buyer.

The following instructions are for all URBN Inc Brands; Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, BHLDN, and Free People PO’s that are packaged in standard corrugated boxes, each weighing no more than 150 Lbs.

As a Domestic Prepaid vendor, the vendor record & PO will show “Domestic”, & Place of Handover will be URBN FACILITY.

ALERTS

All PO’s are to be shipped to the URBN Facility specified on the PO. Please click here for where to find the “Ship To” location on your PO.

Vendors with prepaid freight terms are responsible for all freight charges associated with shipments to URBN, Inc. URBN recommends vendors ship with only those on the Intra-Canada Prepaid URBN Approved Carrier List (below). However, prepaid vendors are permitted to use their carrier of choice.

Vendors with Prepaid terms and/or shipping with a carrier not on URBN’s Approved Carrier List, URBN IS NOT LIABLE FOR:

  • Lost/missing/damaged merchandise
  • ANY carrier fees, including, but not limited to; accessorial, delays, maintenance, appointments, detention charges, etc.

Intra-Canada Prepaid: Parcel Routing – Small Quantity/Size PO Shipments

For shipments to a single destination that consist of fewer than 20 total cartons and weigh up to 150 lbs.

Delivery appointments are required for parcel shipments when a URBN approved carrier is not utilized (preferred carriers include UPS, FedEx, and carriers found in the below Prepaid Intra-Canada Freight Table).

  • The carrier should email the appropriate DC to make a delivery appointment 48 hours in advance.
    • Please refer to the US Routing Overview for a list of URBN US Distribution and Fulfillment Center information and contacts.

*A VICs Bill of Lading is not required for domestic parcel shipments.

Intra-Canada Prepaid: LTL/Truckload

LTL: For PO shipments to a single destination that consist of more than 20 cartons, 1-10 pallets, and weigh up to 10,000 lbs. TL: For PO shipments to a single destination that consist of more than 10 pallets and/or weigh more than 10,000 lbs.

  • The carrier should email the appropriate DC to make a delivery appointment 48 hours in advance. The DC contact should be listed on the BOL.
  • Cut off for making an appointment for next day is 3:00 PM EST.
  • The Appointment Desk is open Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM EST.

*A VICs Bill of Lading is required for all domestic shipments, Truckload (TL) or Less than Truckload (LTL). Please see the BOL guide for BOL requirements.

Freight Collect Intra-Canada Routing Guide

The following instructions apply only to vendors that have been pre-approved by their URBN Buyer for “collect freight” terms. Authorized freight collect vendors MUST ship via carriers on the Intra-Canada URBN Approved Carrier List.

The following instructions are for all URBN Inc Brands; Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, BHLDN, and Free People PO’s that are packaged in standard corrugated boxes, each weighing no more than 150 Lbs.

As a Freight Collect vendor, the vendor record & PO will show “Domestic”, & Place of Handover will be VENDOR FACILITY.

If vendor fails to follow URBN Freight Collect Routing Guidelines, URBN is NOT LIABLE FOR:

  • Lost/missing/damaged merchandise
  • ANY carrier fees, including, but not limited to; accessorial, delays, maintenance, appointments, detention charges, etc.

Intra-Canada Freight Collect: Parcel Routing – Small Quantity/Size PO Shipments

Shipments that range from 1-150 lbs. (actual or dimensional lbs.), with less than 20 total packages.

  • Vendors MUST ship via UPS Ground services unless prior approval is received by URBN Buyer.
  • Vendors MUST ship to the final destination/NLS’ (URBN’s 3PL Canada DC) Facility specified on the PO.
  • Please contact URBNTransportation@urbn.com for log in credentials and instructions to generate your UPS Shipping Labels.

Intra-Canada Freight Collect: LTL/Truckload

Vendors may use LTL services for PO shipments to a single destination that consist of 1-10 pallets & > 20 packages, weight up to 10,000 lbs.

URBN’s preferred LTL Carrier is ArcBest Freight (ABF). All vendors shipping with ABF will be required to complete the online ABF Freight Pickup Request Form to book shipments.

  • URBN will not authorize prepay and add-on vendor invoices.
  • Do NOT purchase additional insurance from carriers. Any expense for additional insurance will be charged back to the vendor unless previously approved by URBN Buyer.
