Component Packing Guidelines

Component Packing occurs when 1 SKU must be packed amongst 2 or more cartons.

Vendors may not proceed with Component Packing unless necessary (the product cannot be packed in a single master carton).

For example:

  • A single table (1 SKU) must be packed into 2 shipping cartons: 1 carton for the tabletop and 1 carton for the table base.
  • A single bed (1 SKU) must be packed into 3 shipping cartons: 1 carton for the headboard, 1 carton for the footboard, and 1 carton for the slats.

Component Packing requires vendors to create the Packing List differently than the standard when a single SKU is packed entirely within a carton.

Please refer to the Component Packing Guidelines for instructions to create a Packing List, UCC-128 Carton Labels, and Invoice in Tradestone that accurately reflects Component Packing.

Note: In addition to Tradestone requirements for Component Packing, there are unique Carton Labeling requirements which are also included in the Component Packing Guide. Please ensure Component Packed shipments are compliant with all requirements.
